Garden Support Weaving Class

We were thrilled to be asked to run a weaving course for Cincinnati’s Harriet Beecher Stowe House garden volunteers and employees.

To keep it garden themed, we decided to teach the group how to weave garden supports for blooming plants that might have heads—dahlias, echinacea, peonies, tall showy irises. If we were making these for ourselves, we’d make them right in the garden around the newly growing plants in the spring. But you can build them in handy dandy forms as well. Everyone did incredibly well.

It was a hard, cold week on the farm, but ending the week playing with sticks with jazzed students in the cozy Lost Bridge Beverage Company taproom was a nice pick me up.
